If you feel the need for additional turn based strategy action after NF, I've found [http://www.hex-empire.com/|Hex Empires] to be quite good. It is a fairly simple, non-random Riskesque game of world domination. Bigger armies always beat smaller ones, so battle results can be predicted with some certainty though map-wide morale effects (from winning/losing battles and capturing/losing cities and ports) can influence the relative strengths of armies. Eliminating enemies is done by capturing their capitals, which can prove a bit easy when they move out just as you get within striking range. However having a 3 on 1 scenario from the start can make it hard to survive, let alone win. I appreciate the timing isn't the best, unfortunately the scheduling of this trip isn't up to me (babies arrivng when they will and all that). Nonetheless I'll be glad to see whoever can come along.
