RanLAN 2009 II - EasterLAN

I was going to come up with an interesting and entertaining way of posting this, but fuck it I've been busy at work and gaming at home.

This easter long weekend, 3-day Lan, Friday to Sunday. Standard terms and conditions, come to what parts you can, reply below if you are coming and which days so I can sort out spacing.

Also, bring money for food, and suggestions are welcome with respect to catering. Parents are away so anything requiring prep will be more onerous.

Edited to remind people that this LAN still be happening and you can totally make it to at least one of the three days, it will totally be a festival of nerditry *hint, log in*!

See Emoticon List

Nemisii: Well, this got rapidly buried. All I can say is that I'll be there if I can get a lift, as always.

GrubLord: Incidentally, I probably will not be able to make it to this.

Unfortunately, it looks like there'll be a backlog of work when I get back, and it will all be due extremely soon.

Lunzo: I won't be able to make this either. I'm heading down to the Snowy Mountains for some time outdoors ohnoes

Ethistan: I only get back on the Thursday and will be catching up with friends and family in the city, so I shall regrettably not be able to come. But have fun those who do go smile

Elo: I won't be able to make this one either :(

My bro is coming down from QLD and I need to drive up and see the parents and him. Sorry

Ranneko: The news isn't great thus far. I do want to point out though, despite these responses we do have 10 people who are planning upon attending thus far. Yes, not quite Birthday LAN attendance, but still a good number.

GrubLord: Isn't this a three-day event?

You guys could still go to part of it. I'm tempted to, myself...

Ranneko: You should show up Grubs! If not you will regret it!

Also, update to the post, especially if people log in.

GrubLord: Uh, well, I tried.

In a development that was both fortunate and unfortunate (mostly fortunate), I appear to have made it into the Highlights of the SNM conference (take that, Ash!). Hence, some dude has requested my presentation slides ahead of time (which, um, I haven't started yet and wasn't going to do for some time).

Hence, I have even more work to do, now, and really shouldn't go anywhere. I might've closed my eyes to reality and foolishly gone anyway... but it, um, doesn't look like many of us are going. crying

So, yeah, I will have to give up my RanLAN attendance in favour of PowerPoint, e-mailin', having boiled-egg-duels with my mother, and a massive feast of slow-cooked lambshanks. Apologies, Ran - you will receive delicious Japan-goods early next week when I will reschedule that movie outing.

RJorb: Apologies for my absence, Ran. Mel has quite a bit of time off over this weekend, and I'm keen to spend it with her. Apart from that, I'm filling in the time chipping away at the usual mountain of assignments. I hope you have plenty of fun, even without the rest of us slacker NWTJites.

As for the other subject mentioned in your post, you're definitely right. Could someone with the appropriate know-how set us up a forum for planning and preparation, like we had last year?

GrubLord: Maybe the old one is still up...

RJorb: Elo has kindly set us up the bomb.

RJorb: (log in, dear readers, to see the important crew-only link!)

GrubLord: I can't seem to get it to show the validation letters... and I can't create an account without them.

RJorb: Odd, it worked fine for me... tried a different browser?

GrubLord: Might be 'cause my net's capped...?

Ash: Grub I had the same problem until I tried Firefox.

Elo: Try again, I changed some settings which should fix the problems.

Go Back
