Pancakes!

I had an interesting way all set out to post this, but it turned into a morbid, emo mess. So fuck it, I'm 24 and that's as good a reason as any to get together and enjoy some fine eatin' and good company.

Details are as follows:
This saturday (the 25th), pancakes at the rocks (actually at the rocks!), whenever I can get a table booked (hopefully around the 7:30 mark).

If I can't get the table, or if people prefer, there'll be a BBQ at Casa de Nerd (aka Nem & Eth's) starting sometime in the arvo instead. So post below, asap, to let me know if you're coming, and you're preference.

EDIT: it goes without saying, but here goes anyway: partners are, of course, more than welcome, just let me know for numbers.

See Emoticon List

GrubLord: Goodness me - actually at the Rocks?!

Well, Ash, Syfro, XacK, RJorb and I sorta have plans from 1 to 7 pm that day... but I guess they could be cut short, maybe. Up to them, I suppose.

Elo: Elo is IN! would prob prefer the Pancakes @ the Rocks.

Ranneko: I'm currently plannin to be lannin that day, but I certainly can cut that short to pancake it up. Especially since I'd be at UTS anyway.

GrubLord: You, sir, do a hell of a lot of LANning.

And, well, Elo... that's good, 'cause that's sorta the only option he gave us. haha

Elo: Grub ... read the post again

"If I can't get the table, or if people prefer, there'll be a BBQ at Casa de Nerd(aka Nem & Eth's)"

GrubLord: I think my memory of how that place typically smells caused me to suppress that particular line due to trauma.

Lunzo: Unable to make it. My plans are to undertake the great Aussie ANZAC ritual* in the morning, then go to a friend's house-warming party that afternoon. Sorry Nem, but they booked in weeks ago.

*drinking booze.

GrubLord: Fair enough.

Is there actually some kind of ANZAC drinking event on Saturday? I thought drinking before noon was bad for some reason.

RJorb: You better believe I'll be there. Me and those pancakes have a score to settle.

Ash: I'll be there. Eberron shouldn't take too long. All we have to do is execute Liv anyway.

Ranneko: What can I say Grubs, I am a LANning MACHINE.

Also, it's ANZAC day, and 2 different groups of people I know are celebrating with LANZAC day.

Yarkin: Jess and I will go! Do I remember someone saying you can't make bookings at The Rocks?

RJorb: Even if we can't make a booking for The Rocks, I'd be tempted to show up and wait for a table. In comparison the Darling Harbour restaurant is, as the French say, le shithouse.

GrubLord: Well, the alternative is not so much Darling Harbour as Casa de Nerd. Admittedly, your French may still serve as an adequate descriptor at least some of the time. >_>

Elo: Hmmm I just re-read your post Nem ... you wanted good company ... I think we should all pull out of dinner ... Fine dining too, wow they'll be no-one there

Ethistan: In defense of Casa de Nerd, I have spent considerable time cleaning it, and I believe it to be habitable for humans again tongue

cK: I'll try and make it.. I'm not sure when my Magic Tournament finishes

(BTW guys interested: the newest set of magic cards comes out tomorrow, prerelease at the Grace Hotel on York street sydney CBD 9:30am and 2:30pm starts! Come with me :) )

If no one comes with me, I'll call lachlan to find out what's happening when I'm done. TTYLS :D

Nemisii: Right, so, here's the skinny: they're not taking bookings, since it's a public holiday and all, so I'm going to get there at 6:30 or so, and stand in line for a while. If anyone wants to join me, feel free tongue

RJorb: Nem, if we're aiming to eat at 7:30pm, probably best to show up no earlier than 7pm.

It's a good idea to line up early, but I can't see them letting you hold a large table for ages, unless most of our party has already arrived. So, showing up before 7pm might just be a waste of your time.

Nemisii: my my, how optimistic of you, to think we'll only be waiting 30 mins on a saturday night, AND public holiday tongue
but, you may well be right, so I'll show up a little before 7

RJorb: Oh, you may have misunderstood. There wasn't any optimism there. We're going to be waiting for fucking ages. tongue

All I'm saying is, unless most of our numbers are there, they ain't going to seat you.

GrubLord: Good food, good company, fabulous night out; happy birthday again, Nem.

Go Back
