Nothing Wins the Justice

Goodness knows if anyone even cares any more, but ZOMG THEY'RE SHUTTING DOWN ALBATROSS18!

Now, I don't know when or if we'll be playing this again - although I do think it'd be only natural to throw down for a few rounds of Pangya Season 4 at NF - but either way I know that a number of us have spent a few dimes on some fabulous Pangya goodness, and would feel a little hard-done-by to be cheated of the items and characters we had earned and/or purchased, even if we never really expected to actually play the game again.

Rather like quitting WoW, then subsequently being informed of your character's impending deletion, there is an emotional attachment which would cause a certain apprehensiveness and resentment nonetheless. Many hours of spent playing cry out from the past, wailing "We're being deleeeeteeeed"...

So, anyways, supposing you want to avoid this fate, you have a limited time in which OGPlanet are co-operating with the original developers of Pangya (Ntreev) to copy account data over from Albatross18's defunct database to the active servers that said developers are now making available to us English-speakers. Hence, if you do fancy a bit of Pangya you can not only still play the game for free (the latest season, no less), you can transfer your character over, and even call the game by its proper name instead of having to cringe every time you look at the words "Albatross18".

Call me crazy, but I want to know what's new, and maybe try my hand at a Tomahawk or two for old times' sake.

Lunzo: My account has been transferred. I've just got to wait for their next patch for all the items, characters etc. to show up. I might wait 'til then before I have a hit.

Ranneko: Yeah, if you guys start playing again, I might remake a character.

Syfro: It appears I got a bit silly with my account details, so it doesn't look like I'll be able to transfer mine. I'll see if I can email them or something to fix it up, but otherwise I'm out of luck.

Lunzo: Transfer went ok. Looks like all my items made it across.

You do lose your trophies, longest shot record, and your record scores for courses, although this could be a good thing if you still get 1000 pang for beating your high score.
