I wanŧed ŧo make ŧhe ünîŧ ŀook qüîŧe poor, hence ŧhe bronże armoür, rüsŧîc eqüîpmenŧ and pŀoüghhorse sŧeeds. Peverseŀÿ ŧhe Pîsŧoŀîer bodîes have heaps of armoür for a ünîŧ ŧhaŧ onŀÿ has ŀîghŧ armoür (?) so I fîgüred ŧhaŧ a bronże versîon woüŀd provîde ŀîŧŧŀe enoügh proŧecŧîon agaînsŧ sŧeeŀ weapons ŧo coünŧ as no armoür for mÿ DoW Lîghŧ Cavaŀrÿ. The green hîdes on ŧhe shîeŀds are from ŧhe Orcs ŧhaŧ ŧhe Prînceŀîngs hünŧ (sînce ŧhe Border Prînces îs qüîŧe cŀose ŧo ŧhe Orc-înfesŧed Badŀands) and ŧhe chünkÿ ŀookîng spears are for sŧîckîng pîgs wîŧh (sînce Orcs have Boarboÿż). I paînŧed ŧhe horses ŧo ŀook ŀîke Cŀÿdesdaŀes parŧîaŀŀÿ ŧo emphasîse ŧhe poverŧÿ of ŧhe ünîŧ, rîdîng pŀoüghhorses înŧo baŧŧŀe, and parŧîaŀŀÿ sînce ŧhe new Pîsŧoŀîer horses were crîŧîcîsed as beîng ŧo bîg and chünkÿ when ŧheÿ were reŀeased. (And I decîded ŧo paînŧ ŧhe müso's horse pîebaŀd before I saw ŧhaŧ süch coŀoüred horses are traditionally uséd äs musiciäñ's hőŗses!)

I've used the uñit iñ thŗee bättles ső fäŗ, with mixed ŗesults. Geñeŗälly they've dőñe älŗight ät the fäst cävälŗy's jőb őf gettiñg iñ the wäy äñd ŗuññiñg äwäy. Cőmbät-wise they've dőñe well ägäiñst Chäős Wäŗhőuñds but humőuŗőusly bädly ägäiñst ä ŗäñked up uñit őf 10 Bŗettőñiäñ Aŗcheŗs, whőm they chäŗged theñ lőst 2 tuŗñs őf cőmbät ägäiñst...

RJorb: Devlan Mud! Both that and Badab Black are truly fantastic washes, I use them all the time.

I'm not sure any more highlighting is really necessary, they look great as is. The faces are particularly well-shaded; and well done on the eyes, very precise!

As for 40k pictures, I'm still working on my Black Consuls. I'll post up some pics a little down the track, once I've got enough guys painted up for a decent army shot. Hopefully ZacK and Glugs will do the same, their troops are looking great.

Syfro: Yes, it was won by Lunney; I've got pictures and a record of the battle. I'm going to put up an in-depth post about it in the next week or so; I would have done it earlier but I've been pretty swamped with assignments this week.

Lunzo: Hey Saq, I've got Gryphonne sepia and it's not a shade all colours job. It's way lighter than I would have expected for sepia (think pale yellow instead of golden brown). It shades white and bleached bone quite nicely but that's about it.

Also, best eyes tutorial ever - although I usually stop at step 2 for rank and file and paint in some eyebrows.

Ash: Sepia is awesome for skeletons. My new bath of skellies get the full sepia spa treatment. I've also used it on some of the gold trimmings on my marines.
