Nothing Wins the Justice

As the year inexorably draws towards the close it is time to organise two of the most significant events of the 1st Quarter period.

First of the ranks is RanLAN 2k10 1 - BirthdayLAN.

The biggest of all RanLANs this one is in honour of my continued survival, which seems a better excuse than normal to gather many people in my garage and basement for Computer games, board games, card games, console games and almost any other activity which ends in games.

This is scheduled to take place two weekends after my birthday.

The next event is of course the venerable Nerdfest 2k10, this will mark the 3rd year in a row that NF has taken place in the same location and is scheduled for early February. Nerdfest of course brings us a week chock full of gaming of all kind, and possibly even a trip (maybe even two) to the beach!

I would suggest that you all get your leave and travel plans together for these most significant secular events of the year!

Yarkin: Aww, I was looking forward to RanLAN, but the new dates cover Jess' birthday! Won't be able to make it now.

Syfro: Put me down as a tentative yes, as I'll have to consult the Tarot cards first. Don't want to get bitten by a badgersnake, after all.

Lunzo: Tentative yes for RanLan. I can't foresee any obstacle to my attendance at this stage.

Lunzo: I haven't heard of most of those cheeses. The only one I recognise on that list is Halloumi .

Anyways, unless we all go to Jess' birthday party instead, I'm thinking RanLAN is a go.

I'm looking forward to some fine boardgaming. Is there some new digital game being played that gives us a swell reason to haul computer towers about? TF2 doesn't really do it for me on its own.

GrubLord: Oh and Lun: Did you remind them that this yearly ritual relieves the natural buildup of vitriolic Lunzo toxins in your bloodstream, which will otherwise slowly twist you into a wicked, irritating, jerkass and unproductive version of yourself? (ie. Bogdan)

Nobody wants that kind of horrible fate for you, Lunbags: NerdFest isn't a holiday, it's an investment!

Ranneko: I'm looking forward to playing some Borderlands without the terrible lag, I imagine that some L4D will also get played, possibly even some L4D2.

Plus I hear that there is this brand new game that terrible people are playing despite some especially stupid and poorly justified design decisions and a stupidly high price. That might be a fun LAN game.

Plus, I'd like to give League of Legends a go, I'd be up for a more fast paced deathmatch game of some description (UT99/2k4 maybe).

You could always bring a laptop.

Ash: I probably will not be able to make it.

RJorb: The Hon. Dr. R. Jorbington QC Esq. will grace this event with his presence for at least one day.

Nemisii: Whoops, just realised I never acually posted on this: Yes, I'll be coming, for at least one day. Assuming I can get a lift.
