LIV AND I ON THE TOWN

So I turned up to a Conference at UNSW called HealthCom2009 to present a paper that we'd written as part of my thesis project. While signing in for my nametag, who's nametag did I see in the "C" column than that of THE GRUBINATOR (pictured below)

It turns out that we're both presenting papers at the same conference, sadly his is on thursday, and I can't make it. Thursday also has the free harbour cruise dinner which I can't make.. Sad!

Anyway, it was pretty cool hanging with the livmeister for a day, and I hope I prove a much more acceptable conference buddy than Ash!

See Emoticon List

cK: Damn we sexy! Aren't we, Dr. Liviu?

GrubLord: We sure are, Dr. Croucher.

Incidentally, a dead rat would be more fun than Ashnil.

Ash: I can't believe you were on MSN in the middle of the conference, Liv. So irresponsible!

Incidentally, I was going to use the tag but that would have been misinterpreted.

Ash: That comment did not come out the way it was supposed to...

teh_saq: Hmmm, I ŧhînk ÿoür fîrsŧ commenŧ maÿ be mîsînŧerpreŧed Ash...

Aŀso, forgîve ŧhe seemîngŀÿ îrreŀevanŧ qüesŧîon, büŧ whaŧ were ŧhe ŧwo of ÿoü presenŧîng on?

GrubLord: It's odd that you would consider a question about the topic of the post to be more offtopic than the unintelligible braying of Ashnils. (MSN? His... tag? What?)

I will present on personalized online health records based on web technologies, which should allow people to take personal control of (and centralise!) their electronic health records.

cK was presenting a custom system developed using a microcontroller board and accelerometer, which uses sensor data to detect falls in the elderly, allowing them to remain independent for longer, by not having to fear the risk of being incapacitated and unable to call for help.

cK: "A device to detect when the wearer falls over" :P

GrubLord: Yeah, but you gotta say it all SCIENCY.
