Nothing Wins the Justice

Fresh from the Warp

Here's some news for those of you who have armies of 1000 points and plan to attend my Australia Day Battle Royale. I'm throwing down the gauntlet!

I had set the points total of the event at 500 points, worrying that I might not complete 1000 in time, but said worry proved unfounded. Behold, above (click to zoom in), my 1000 point Chaos Space Marine Army!

With this, I have put together every model I have, with the exception of a couple of Rhino tanks and some Chaos Spawn (which I don't need yet).

I eagerly await our next 40K order's arrival, so's I can run a more balanced list... but until then, I am happy to just swarm the board with nasty-ass evil marines.

Provided XacK doesn't field TOO many tanks, I'm feeling pretty confident for Tuesday.

See Emoticon List

RJorb: Hawt!

Looks like I'm gonna need some bigger guns...

GrubLord: What you need, sir, is markerlights.

Markerlights + Rapid Fire = InSANE.

RJorb: So, I'm guessing you didn't quite show those Tau what-for, eh?

GrubLord: I did have a rather great finish, with a single Aspiring Champion of Nurgle getting hit by 20 Fire Warrior shots on rapid-fire, four missiles, a burst cannon, several drones and five railguns, shrugging it all off and wiping out an entire unit of Fire Warriors.

Unfortunately, though, the mostly-open battlefield didn't exactly work out so well for me overall, and my Rhino never moved more than 6 inches.

Mind you, according to the rules, it was a draw. tongue

Syfro: Well, of *course* it was! Kill points are the most balanced system in the known universe, and anyone who would point out that my list had around 10-11 Kill Points to his grand total of 4 would be a complete buffoon.

Surely.

GrubLord: Buffoon.

GrubLord: I take back my statement in the post.

I do need those rhinoes.

Damn do I need those rhinoes...

RJorb: It'll be much harder to shoot your slow-ass marines to pieces when they're hooning around in armoured transports.

Not impossible, mind you... confident

GrubLord: I'll get you yet, Jorb Baron! angry

teh_saq: Lookîn' good Lîv, îs ŧhaŧ Rhîno dedîcaŧed ŧo ŧhe besŧ Chaos god aroünd or îs îŧ jüsŧ ŀackîng în Ŋîghŧ Lords îconographÿ?

As for Kîŀŀ Poînŧs, I'm noŧ a fan eîŧher büŧ I have heard îŧ saîd ŧhaŧ when ÿoü pŀaÿ a ŀoŧ of games în ŧhe correcŧ proporŧîons (îe 1/3 each of ŧhe ŧhree vîcŧorÿ condîŧîons) ŧhe ŧhînkîng beîng ŧhaŧ armîes wîŧh ŀow KPs are generaŀŀÿ bad aŧ hoŀdîng objecŧîves düe ŧo ŀow nümbers of ünîŧs, especîaŀŀÿ Troops. Büŧ heÿ, Vîcŧorÿ Poînŧs are sŧîŀŀ ŧhere for ŧhe caŀcüŀaŧîng.

GrubLord: The flash makes the Rhino look brighter-coloured than it is - it is in fact a Night-lords Rhino.

I'm not really going for all the bat-wings, etc., of the night-lords, though, giving them a more general-Chaos flavour, since I plan to keep most of my force quite varied, albeit with a lot of colours in common.

Those plague marines, for instance, actually only use one colour the rest of my dudes don't - but they're painted very differently. I plan to do much the same with the rest of my army, using Night Lords colours as a baseline.

I'll still use the Night Lords lightning iconography, but only on certain select units.
